1: Source: LIS. Children are defined as under 18 and not a parent (where that information was available). Note that in the following countries, more than ten percent of children are grandchildren of their household heads: China (13%), Japan (13%), South Africa (36%), Germany (15%), Russian Federation (20%). In Japan and Sweden, household head education is missing for 8 and 9 percent of children, respectively.
2: Source: Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) 2008-2014. Children are defined as under 18 and not having a child in the household.
